Bio

Niamh began dancing at @Dance Scotland- based in Port Seton, East Lothian. Her training included jazz, modern, tap and ballet. Niamh took her ballet training further when she successfully auditioned for the Scottish Ballet Associate (2011-2017)  and Junior Conservatoire (2013-2016) programmes. Through her ballet training, Niamh found a love for contemporary dance- particularly Cunningham technique. She took this new found passion and received her HND (grade A) at Dance Studio Scotland (2019).

After three years of full time training, Niamh successfully gained a 1:1 (First Class Honours Degree) from The Scottish School of Contemporary in BA (Hons) Dance in May of 2020. 

 

During her year of study in Dundee, Niamh had the opportunity to work with choreographers such as Thomas Small and Jen Wren. Niamh also participated in various workshops with Scottish Dance Theatre, Company Chameleon and Company Wayne McGregor.

In 2018, Niamh joined the Lothian Youth Dance Company for their 2017-18 session and had the opportunity to work will acclaimed choreographers such as Lucy Suggate and White & Givan. 

​

During April of 2019, Niamh had the opportunity to travel to New York to engage in dance training at Broadway Dance Centre and Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre.

​

Niamh is currently a contemporary teacher and competition choreographer for @Dance Scotland and has students successfully qualify for the Dance World Cup, ISTD Janet Cram Awards and the Scottish Youth Ballet Grand Prix
